As a core member of the tax function, you will enjoy exposure to a diverse range of partnership structures, investments, and tax challenges unique to the family office and private equity world.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review partnership and individual federal, state, and local income tax returns, including complex multi-state filings and K-1sManage tax planning and compliance activities for private investments, trusts, foundations, and high-net-worth individualsCollaborate across investment, finance, and legal teams to optimize tax strategies relating to new and existing investmentsLead or support tax research and analysis for special projects, entity restructurings, and transaction planningMaintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving tax laws affecting private equity, family office, and partnership structuresCollaborate with internal stakeholders to prepare year-end tax estimates for partners, leveraging your analytical skills and tax expertise to provide accurate projections and facilitate proactive tax planning strategies.Scrutinize financial statements with a keen eye for tax implications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards. Proactively identify potential areas for optimization and risk mitigation.Liaise with external advisors (tax firms, legal counsel) as needed to facilitate efficient and timely filing and complianceIdentify and recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in tax operationsEnsure strict confidentiality regarding sensitive family and business informationConduct In-depth Financial Analysis: Utilize your proficiency in financial analysis to dissect complex data sets, identify key trends, and generate actionable insightsPresent findings to senior management to facilitate informed decision-making and strategic planningAd Hoc Responsibilities: Flexibly respond to evolving business needs by undertaking additional duties and projects as assigned by management, demonstrating adaptability, initiative, and a commitment to excellence Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field; Masters in Taxation is a plusCPA certified (or currently pursuing CPA)2-5 years of relevant tax experience, ideally in public accounting, private equity, or a family office settingSolid hands-on exposure to partnership and individual tax returnsProven ability to interpret tax codes/regulations relevant to partnerships, S corporations, trusts, and high-net-worth individualsStrong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities to tight deadlinesHigh level of self-motivation takes initiative, pursues learning opportunities, and is proactive in problem solvingDiscreet, trustworthy, and capable of handling highly confidential informationExceptionally collaborative a true team player who views their contribution as essential to making the firm a better place for all This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is looking to exit public accounting and join a successful Investment Group with normal 40-hour work weeks and terrific perks.
