The Lead Process Engineer may work on several concurrent projects and is a recognized expert within the Process Engineering Discipline. This role may include some supervisory or managerial responsibilities.\nThis position is based in Phoenix, AZ.\nJob Duties and Responsibilities\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams on advanced technology facilities and related assigned projects.\nConduct feasibility studies and provide technical expertise in the evaluations of applicable systems.\nAssess the requirements of a project, break a project into tasks, and work with a Project Manager to determine the scope of work, budget, and staffing.\nWrite scopes of work based on preliminary review and meetings with the client.\nPrepare engineering studies and schematic designs for new systems and analyze the operation of existing systems.\nWork with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required.\nAssign and review the work of the project design team. Check the progress of work and alert the Project Manager to change of scope or additional services.\nReview contractor applications for payments, utilizing a thorough understanding of the construction process.\nCoordinate all aspects of project document completion internally and externally with clients and other design professionals.\nPrepare or review construction budgets based on experience and scope of project.\nAssist in the education and development of design staff and act as a resource for design questions.\nUtilize computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.\nProvide drawings for own designs and produce sketches to incorporate in drawings by drafters.\nResearch design options and document findings for Project Designer/Engineer.\nEnsure that drawings and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards.\nProvide indirect supervision of small to medium-sized teams or manage a small team of direct reports consisting of Engineers, Designers, and Drafters as needed as an extension of the Department Manager.\nSpecial projects as assigned.\nQualifications & Requirements:\nQualifications & Requirements\nBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field with proven experience in process engineering and systems design for advanced technology industrial manufacturing and related facilities projects. Direct experience working for A/E or EPCM consultancy is strongly preferred.\nThe typical minimum level of experience for a Lead Engineer can be 10 years.\nRegistered Professional Engineer required.\nExpertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting. Proficiency in using standard engineering, CADD, and business software including but not exclusive to AutoCAD, Revit, BIM/3D platforms, MS Office Suite.\nAbility to develop and create engineering calculations, data sheets, equipment sizing, PFDs and P&IDs using applicable software platforms required.\nPossess a strong understanding, knowledge, and direct experience with the design of advanced technologies industrial manufacturing facilities and equipment layout. Systems include, but not limited to, Gases, Chemicals, Specialty Waters, Wastewater Treatment, and Wastes used in high-tech manufacturing facilities.\nStrong understanding of applicable industry-specific codes, standards, and regulations.\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and clients.
