Front Desk AssociateTPP Pearland - Pearland, TX 77581OverviewSalary Range $15.00 - $18.00 Hourly Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Education Level High School Category Health CareDescriptionThe Front Desk Associate will accommodate patients, answer phones, and identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency in the clinic and may perform Check-Out duties.Essential Front Desk FunctionsAnswer the phone in a timely manner and direct calls to the correct individualGreet all patients, clients, and vendorsRespond to guest needs, requests, and complaintsRegister and assign rooms to guestsKeep records of occupied rooms and guestsCheck in patients, upload insurance card and photo IDVerify insurance notes for updated benefitsConfirms current address and phone number with patientArrive patients in EMRMaintain adequate copies of all paperwork for patients to fill outEnter payments in EMRClose daily batch and print reportsMaintain lobby clean at all timesConfirm phone and online reservationsCollect payment from departing guestsCommunicate pertinent guest information to designated departmentsGood attendance is expected of all employees as a normal condition of workOther duties as assigned or requestedEssential Check-Out FunctionsGreet patients as they check-out and offer them friendly and prompt assistance while coordinating the patient's careCollect coinsurances, deductibles, copays, and self pay balances that are owed at the time of check out (if not collected at check-in)Review the provider's orders to determine the necessary treatment planSchedule follow up appointments and/or make arrangements for diagnostic testing if applicable for the patientOrders any diagnostic testing and send outgoing ordersAccurately post payments and provide receipts to patientsUpdate the patient information in the EMRSend "Thank you" letters to the referring and primary care doctors office when applicableReconcile individual daily receipts and money collected with the check-in associateBatch credit card machine at the end of every day if neededFax dictations to all referring and primary care doctors for all new patients and established patients that have been cc'd to a specific doctorAssist with E-Fax and importing documentsComplete all tasks within the timelines established by the practiceLock the front door and turn off television at the end of the clinic dayQualificationsCompetenciesAbility to build rapport with guestsStrong organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMaintain professional demeanorExhibit strong team player skills and attitudeSupervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibility.HIPAA Privacy and Confidentiality Requirements The Front Desk Associate will have access to confidential information, both written and oral, in the course of his/her employment and job responsibilities. This role routinely works around medical devices and patient room equipment in addition to standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee occasionally is required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing may be required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.Travel This position may require some travel.Educational and Experience RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent experiencePrevious experience in customer service, front desk service, or other related fieldsExceptional customer service skills and professional phone mannerWorking knowledge of medical terminology and practicesCompensation $15 - $17/hour, depending on experience #hrmdtpp
