Lead Security Architect
This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and guiding the adoption of modern cybersecurity architecture across a large, multi‑platform technology environment. The position combines strategic planning with hands‑on engineering work, focusing on Zero Trust principles, segmentation strategies, and secure workload design.You will work across infrastructure, cloud, application, and security teams to develop architecture patterns, strengthen defense capabilities, and support the organization's broader cybersecurity goals.Key ResponsibilitiesArchitecture & EngineeringDesign and implement Zero Trust security controls and segmentation approaches across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.Develop architecture models, reference designs, and security patterns that guide secure deployment and operations.Integrate security platforms and data sources to improve visibility, monitoring, and automated response.Conduct design reviews and provide architectural oversight to ensure consistent alignment with security principles.Support disaster recovery and resilience planning from an architectural perspective.Risk Management & AssessmentParticipate in the identification, evaluation, and prioritization of technology risks.Recommend mitigation strategies and support teams in defining remediation plans.Track remediation activities, document progress, and maintain project artifacts such as task lists and status reports.Prepare recurring risk and vulnerability reporting for leadership and governance bodies.Collaboration & LeadershipPartner with engineering, operations, and business teams to ensure secure system design and implementation.Provide guidance and mentorship to security engineers and technical staff.Work with vendors and service providers to ensure security requirements are met.Communicate architectural decisions and program updates to stakeholders across the organization.Continuous ImprovementEvaluate emerging threats, technologies, and architectural approaches to strengthen defenses.Contribute to the development of security standards, policies, and technical guidelines.Support initiatives that improve operational efficiency, detection coverage, and security posture.QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.7+ years of experience in cybersecurity architecture, engineering, or related disciplines.Experience implementing or managing segmentation, access control, or Zero Trust-aligned technologies.Strong background in networking concepts, cloud platforms, and distributed system design.Familiarity with integrating security tools such as asset repositories, monitoring platforms, automation tools, or vulnerability scanners.Scripting or automation experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell, API integrations).Ability to diagram systems, map application dependencies, and translate complex environments into architectural models.Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.Nice to HaveProfessional security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent).Cloud security certifications.Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks.Background supporting large‑scale security initiatives or modernization programs.Ideal Candidate ProfileAble to lead architecture discussions and influence technical decision‑making.Comfortable working across multiple technology domains and diverse teams.Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage complex tasks and timelines.Proactive, adaptable, and passionate about continuously improving security capabilities.
