Shipping Coordinator – Aerospace & Defense Position Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping Coordinator to manage and oversee the shipment of aerospace and defense components and systems. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations, including ITAR and EAR, while maintaining efficiency and accuracy in logistics operations. Familiarity with AS9100 quality management systems is essential to ensure adherence to industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and schedule domestic and international shipments of aerospace and defense products. Ensure compliance with all applicable export/import regulations (ITAR, EAR, DFARS, etc.). Prepare and verify shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and export declarations. Work closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal departments to ensure timely and secure delivery. Track shipments and provide status updates to internal stakeholders and customers. Maintain accurate records of all shipping transactions and documentation. Support audits and inspections by regulatory agencies and customers. Collaborate with production, quality, and procurement teams to align shipping schedules with project timelines. Ensure proper packaging and labeling of goods according to aerospace and defense standards. Apply knowledge of AS9100 standards to maintain compliance with quality management system requirements. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to shipping and logistics processes. Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in shipping/logistics, preferably in the aerospace or defense industry. Strong knowledge of export compliance regulations (ITAR, EAR). Experience working within an AS9100-certified environment. Proficiency with ERP systems (Epicor) and shipping software. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements. Experience in receiving and inventory management. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Export Compliance (e.g., CUSECO, EXIM). Experience with military and government shipping requirements (e.g., DD250, WAWF). Familiarity with hazardous materials shipping (IATA, DOT, IMDG). Working Conditions: Office and warehouse environment. May require occasional lifting of packages up to 50 lbs. Occasional travel may be required.
