SummaryTo ensure an exceptionally high level of service to guests of CS Venue and interacts with guests in a positive, professional manner with enthusiasm and sincerity.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following and other duties as assigned.Presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and wine.Has in-depth knowledge of the menu and wine list.Anticipates guests’ basic needs.Communicates with back waiters to ensure courses are delivered in a timely manner.Attends daily line-up meetings with Manager/ChefAttends all venue training sessions to increase service knowledgeRelays order to kitchen and serves courses and beverages from kitchen and service bars.Observes diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed.Enters and maintains orders in POS system.Totals bill and accepts and processes payment.Employs proper table etiquette and mechanics.Performs dining room set up and breakdown and completes daily side work.Maintains all health codes and sanitation requirements.Adheres to CS Venue Hygiene and Grooming policy.Provide a guest experience that exceeds the guest’s expectations.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job has no supervisory responsibilities; however, it is expected that server will create team relationship with other servers, expediter, back waiters, bussers and bar staffQualificationsQualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:Must have 3-5 years fine dining experience and commit to 2 consecutive seasons with CS Venue.Must maintain current certification for Alcohol Service from a recognized Alcohol Service Training CourseMust have basic wine and bar knowledge and knowledge of CS Venue wine list.Must pass venue service test after 3 weeks with a score of 75% or better.Education And/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); 1-2 years as wait staff in fine dining establishment or restaurant similar in service style to CS venue.Language SkillsFluency in the English language: read, write, speak clearly and effectively. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, discounts.Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Computer SkillsOperational understanding of POS system.Other QualificationsMust be available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.Employees at on-mountain venues must be able to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level, and pass company on-snow assessment.Physical DemandsMust be able to work effectively at altitude of 10,000 ft or above.Must be able to function effectively in inclement weather conditions.While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch.The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 poundsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position does have the ability to earn tips.
