Overview:\nThe Design Engineer works under the direction of a Project Manager and is responsible for day-to-day project work producing technical deliverables for traffic and transportation engineering projects.\nResponsibilities:\nEstablish and monitor adherence to project schedule and budget.\nProvide all necessary coordination and follow-up on the work to ensure quality standards are met, efficiency levels are maintained and client satisfaction, respect and confidence are assured.\nAssist in the development of traffic control device design plans, including traffic signal, signing, pavement marking, lighting and ITS plans.\nCreate clear, concise technical reports and high quality drawings, primarily using AutoCAD.\nPerform field duties outside of the office in support of projects, including traffic data collection and field verifications of existing and proposed traffic control device installations.\nMeet with clients, prepare and deliver presentations, as required.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Emphasis in Traffic Engineering, Planning, and Highway Design courses are a plus.\n0-4 years of experience in traffic/transportation engineering. Any internship experience is applicable.\nEngineer-In-Training (EIT) preferred.\nRelevant internship experience preferred.\nTechnical knowledge in traffic engineering with proven experience in preparing technical reports, designs, specifications, and computations.\nTraffic Signal design and timing experience.\nWorking knowledge of relevant software packages including, Synchro, HCS, Microstation, Corsim, VISSIM is a plus.\nFamiliar with AutoCAD.\nIndependent and critical thinking abilities.\nProficiency in the use of Microsoft Software including Word, Excel, Outlook and Project\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nSelf-starter who can work independently and with team members.\nWhat We Offer: We strive to provide a great company culture consisting of a variety of team building events: trivia nights, softball and volleyball leagues, mini golf tournaments, BBQ’s, happy hours, poker nights, catered weekly staff meetings, surfboard lending programs, and much more.
