Are you a talented problem solver who can transform abstract problems into elegant technical solutions? We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team of engineers and data analysts focused on designing, creating, and delivering data solutions as part of our state-of-the-art cloud based products. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build a world-class solution to help our higher education clients solve challenging problems through data.\nThis position will ideally be based in Richmond, VA or Washington, D.C.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nResponsible for translating functional requirements and processes into scaled solutions through logical implementation of code (e.g., SQL, python)\nResponsible for data modeling and schema design that will range across multiple business domains within higher education\nPartner with multiple stakeholders including clients, new product development, BI engineers to develop scalable standard schemas\nWork with clients to research and conduct business information flow studies\nCodify high-performing SQL for efficient data transformation\nCoordinate work with external teams to ensure a smooth development process\nSupport operations by identifying, researching and resolving performance and production issues\n\nBasic Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience\nExperience working with relational or multi-dimensional databases, including statistical and business intelligence solutions.\nDemonstrated mastery in database concepts through technically accurate representation of functionally meaningful data\nFoundational knowledge and eagerness to expand skills in SQL\nProven ability to work with stakeholders to define requirements and a clear understanding of data-generative processes\nExcellent analytic and troubleshooting skills\nStrong written and oral communication skills\n\nIdeal Qualifications:\nExperience working in an AGILE environment\nExperience developing commercial software products\nProven ability to synthesize complex topics into intuitive and generalizable taxonomies\nExperience developing ETL processes\nExperience in SFTP automation\nExperience in Python scripting\nFamiliar with Snowflake database\nCommitment to valuing diversity, practicing inclusive behaviors, and contributing to an equitable working and continual learning environment in support of EAB’s DE&I Promise\n\nIf you’ve reached this section of the job description and are unsure of whether to apply, please do!
