Mitsubishi Chemical Group is seeking a Process Production Engineer to join our Specialty Resins team in Pasadena, Texas.This position is designed for a high-potential engineer who wants to build leadership experience while driving production performance, operational excellence, and team success in a complex chemical manufacturing environment. You will work closely with Production, Maintenance, Technical, and EHS teams to improve plant operations, increase efficiency, and support the long-term success of our Specialty Resins business.What You'll DoAs a key member of the Operations team, you will:Partner with Production leadership to achieve daily, weekly, and annual production goalsMonitor plant performance and identify opportunities to improve throughput, quality, reliability, and cost efficiencyLead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to address production issuesWork directly with operators, supervisors, and maintenance personnel to resolve operational challengesSupport production planning and execution to maximize plant performance and meet customer demandAnalyze process data and recommend improvements that increase productivity and operational effectivenessLead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, reliability, and operational excellenceSupport plant turnaround planning, equipment upgrades, and operational improvement projectsAssist with the management and optimization of DCS systems and production recipesScale new products from laboratory development to commercial manufacturingParticipate in Process Safety Management (PSM), HAZOPs, and operational risk assessmentsSupport environmental, health, and safety compliance initiativesDevelop leadership capabilities through increased ownership of production-focused projects and cross-functional teamsRequired QualificationsWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering discipline required4–7 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, process engineering, production engineering, or operations supportStrong understanding of plant operations, process optimization, and manufacturing processesExperience troubleshooting production issues and driving operational improvementsDemonstrated ability to influence teams and collaborate across Operations, Maintenance, Technical, and EHS functionsStrong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience in polymer, resin, or specialty chemical manufacturingExperience supporting production teams in a 24/7 manufacturing environmentKnowledge of DCS systems, process controls, and manufacturing automationExperience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and HAZOP studiesDemonstrated leadership potential and desire to progress into manufacturing leadershipWhy This Opportunity Stands OutThis is more than a traditional process engineering role. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.
