The Help Desk Technician primarily handles high volume routine service requests and incident tickets.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe essential duties and responsibilities of this position are included, but are not limited to the following:Provides technical support to end-users; coordinates technical support with vendor and internal customers for installations, troubleshooting, repair, and/or maintenance issues.Monitors, configures, and maintains equipment and systems in assigned area of responsibility, taking appropriate corrective action or referring issues requiring escalation.Troubleshoots computer, communication, networking, and/or related system hardware and software problems to include providing technical assistance, evaluating and troubleshooting systems, and installing, upgrading, and configuring hardware, software, and peripheral equipment and devices.Monitors and maintains appropriate levels of inventory and supplies to ensure efficient and effective operations, which includes the tracking of computer related assets.Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and/or other county staff to ensure clear communication and information sharing.Performs other duties as necessary and/or assigned to support efficient and effective county operations.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Driving or riding to work at a service center, attending meetings, participating in training sessions, etc. may be required.Work interruptions are frequent. There is some pressure associated with project or activity deadlines and details.Equipment used includes, but is not limited to, computers, printers, telephone, calculator, copy/fax machine.ACCESS TO PUBLIC DATA:This position may encounter non-public data in the course of these duties.
