Process Engineer II will support production as need to resolve urgent molding process related issues. This role requires application of scientific injection molding principles to develop robust and repeatable processes through application of scientific molding principles coupled with applicable studies & statistics. Will be able to perform advanced troubleshooting through completion of the Troubleshooting Guide on\n\nThe Process Engineer II will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Tool Room, and Manufacturing while supporting HellermannTyton’s IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System requirements through adherence to corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation. This will be achieved while maintaining HellermannTyton's Quality and EHS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation.\n\nEssential Functions\n\nDevelop and document injection molding processes using scientific molding principles.\n\nCoordinate mold revisions and repairs to prototype and new molds.\n\nRecommend corrective actions for mold- and process-related issues to Engineering and Technical leadership.\n\nAct as a liaison between Engineering, Quality Assurance, Tool Room, and Manufacturing regarding mold and process issues.\n\nSample and evaluate prototype molds, new molds, resins, and equipment.\n\nAssist Manufacturing leadership with machine specifications, training needs for Process Technicians and Operators, process capability evaluations, and cost-savings initiatives.\n\nDevelop, maintain, and update PFMEAs and FMEAs on existing and new products.\n\nPerform visual inspection of molded parts, recognizing and diagnosing root causes of defects.\n\nSupport and maintain compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 through proper documentation and adherence to standard work.\n\nOther Functions\n\nServe as an active member of the Material Committee.\n\nParticipate in Group Standards and Technical meetings.\n\nCommunicate tooling trial status to key team members.\n\nCoordinate and schedule tooling trials.\n\nTrain and mentor Process Engineers as required.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nSuccess in this role will require\n\nAbility to perform injection mold setups and startups.\n\nAbility to conduct viscosity curve studies, gate freeze studies, and determine proper transfer positions.\n\nThorough understanding of PFMEA and FMEA methodology.\n\nWorking knowledge of Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA).\n\nAbility to conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) and record and interpret results.\n\nAbility to understand and interpret SPC and DOE data.\n\nAbility to read and interpret 2-D CAD drawings.\n\nThorough understanding of scientific injection molding principles.\n\nWorking knowledge of QA laboratory testing equipment.\n\nStrong understanding of mold construction, mold setup, and auxiliary equipment.\n\nThorough knowledge of injection molding machine sequences, capabilities, and controls.\n\nStrong written and oral communication skills.\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Relevant associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.\n\nState of Wisconsin Journeyman certification required or equivalent degree.\n\nCompletion of RJG Fundamentals of Systematic Molding & Workshop required.\n\nRJG Master Molder (I) required or ability to obtain within first year of employment.\n\n5+ years of relevant industry experience required.\n\n2+ years of sampling/process development experience required.\n\nStrong troubleshooting ability and mechanical aptitude.\n\nAbility to complete Excel-based SIM workbook studies and interpret data outputs.\n\nWorking Knowledge of RJG’s CoPilot system and graph interpretation.\n\nWorking knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.\n\nStrong written, verbal, and communication skills.\n\nAbility and willingness to attend and participate in relevant job training/education.\n\nAbility to work non-standard hours as needed.\n\nMust be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.\n\nMust be able to wear required PPE in designated areas.\n\nValid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and adequate insurance.\n\nBy applying for a position with HellermannTyton, you understand that should you be made an offer, it will be contingent on your undergoing and successfully completing a background check through the use of our 3rd party supplier.
