Expect to split your time between individual technical contribution and guiding the engineers around you.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced consulting environment, brings a consultative mindset that challenges assumptions, and can communicate complex technical concepts clearly to business stakeholders.Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Architecture Lead data platform architecture and solution design for client engagements, ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable solutionsStay hands-on across the delivery lifecycle through coding, prototyping, and technical problem-solving (~50% individual contribution)Define and ensure teams follow data engineering standards, architecture patterns, and best practices across Snowflake, Databricks, and Microsoft FabricDrive platform selection decisions, advising clients on the right fit based on their data landscape and objectivesClient & Consulting Engagement Partner with client stakeholders and leadership to translate business challenges into data architecture solutions, explaining in clear, business-relevant languageLead technical discovery sessions and contribute to presales solution shaping and proposal developmentTeam Leadership Provide technical oversight to data engineering teams through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on supportLead and guide the team to ensure projects meet scope, timeline, and quality goalsAI & Innovation Guide clients in adopting GenAI and Agentic AI, applying these tools actively yourselfContribute to Provoke’s AI service offeringsRequired Skills & Experience 8+ years of data engineering or architecture experience, with at least 3 years in a consulting or professional services environmentProactively using Gen AI and Agents at every step of the SDLC to improve quality and speedHands-on experience with multiple data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks or Microsoft Fabric at enterprise production scale (1 year minimum hands on working experience using Microsoft Fabric required)Proven ability to architect and deliver across multiple data platforms, advising on platform fit based on client contextStrong PySpark and SQL skills; experienced designing and reviewing complex transformations at scaleExperience designing medallion (bronze/silver/gold) architectures and applying Delta Lake or equivalent patternsStrong communication skills across both technical and executive audiencesExperience migrating from legacy or siloed data environments to modern cloud data platformsDesirable QualificationsCertifications in one or more platforms: Snowflake SnowPro, Databricks Certified Data Engineer, Microsoft DP-600, or equivalentExperience with dbt or other transformation frameworks across Snowflake, Databricks, or FabricExposure to data governance tooling (Microsoft Purview, Unity Catalog, or similar)Prior experience leading client workshops, design sprints, or contributing to proposal responsesLocationUS.
