After a preliminary evaluation period of 2 years, this position may become a tenure-track position.\n\nBACKGROUND CHECK: Williston State College (WSC) does require a successful background check for the selected candidate prior to beginning employment.\n\nJOB SUMMARY:\nThe Physics/Engineering Instructor will be responsible for teaching Physics (algebra-based and calculus-based sequences) and Math courses (possibilities range from college preparatory algebra to Calculus), beginning August of 2026 for the 2026-2027 Academic Year.\n\nResponsibilities:\nDemonstrate and maintain competence in teaching physics throughout employment at the college.\nTeach a course load of at least an average of 15 credits of courses each 16-week semester. Teaching courses during the summer term is optional for all faculty.\nRegularly evaluate student progress toward course objectives.\nServe as academic advisor for PHYS and ENGR students within the college advisement system.\nServe on college, divisional and program committees as assigned.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nMaster’s degree in Physics or Engineering or a Master’s degree in another discipline and a combined 18 graduate semester hours in Physics.\nComputer software skills and Internet familiarity.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrevious teaching experience at the collegiate level.\nWell demonstrated public speaking and communication skills.\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook email and Calendar.\n\nSALARY: $50,339+ based on the WSC Faculty Salary Matrix.\n\nBENEFITS: Fully paid family or single health insurance, life insurance, employee tuition waiver, spouse/dependent tuition discount, retirement, etc.\n\nAPPLICATION CLOSE DATE: February 28, 2026.
