Ryerson offers a dynamic, quality-focused, environment, ideal for advancing your career and making your mark in the metals industry.As a Service Center Operations Supervisor at Ryerson, you will be responsible for directing the efficient function of plant operations including but not limited to production equipment, shipping, receiving, receiving and inventory.Roles And ResponsibilitiesUnderstands production goals and implements actions necessary to meet objectivesProvides leadership to direct reports; coaches and counsels employeesFacilities problem solving and team building activitiesParticipates in Performance Management Process (PMP)Carries out and supports company policies, goals and objectivesUnderstands quality goals and implement actions necessary to meet goals and ISO 9000 standardsReview plant supply inventory and advise purchasing when levels are lowEnsure training is effectively carried out and oversee completion of training checklistsCommunicates with other departments within the facility, as well as other locationsUnderstand customer requirements, participates, and advise on decisions regarding suitability of material and processing equipmentProvide direction and coaching in safe work practices; support safety goalsReview unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are carried out to eliminate workplace hazardFollow and enforce CBA and Memorandum of AgreementAll other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without noticeRequirementsHigh School Diploma / GED is required; College Education preferredA minimum of one (1) to three (3) years supervisory experienceProficient in MS Outlook, Word, and ExcelGood verbal, written, and interpersonal skillsProblem-solving and decision-making skillsThe successful candidate is expected to develop proficiency in SAP as part of their role. Prior experience is not required, but a demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and become proficient in SAP is essentialSalary: $55,753 - $83,630 annually.
