This role is intended for an early-career engineer with strong technical fundamentals, practical CAD/CAM aptitude, and interest in laser powder bed fusion additive manufacturing for aerospace, defense, commercial, and government customers.\nThe AM Solution Engineer works cross-functionally with Engineering, Materials & Processes, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Business Development, and Program Management to help convert customer requirements into manufacturable, correctly scoped, and technically credible additive manufacturing solutions. The role supports feasibility reviews, DfAM/DFM assessments, build preparation inputs, quote packages, customer technical responses, production-readiness documentation, and program execution deliverables.\nThis is an entry-level engineering role. The AM Solution Engineer is expected to work under the direction of senior engineering, program, or technical leadership while developing the capability to independently support customer quotations, build-preparation workflows, technical documentation, and assigned project work packages.\n1. Additive Manufacturing Solution Development\nLead DfAM/DFM reviews, build orientation, support strategy, material and process fit, post-processing assumptions, inspection feasibility, and manufacturing constraints. Escalate technical, cost, schedule, and manufacturability risks to the appropriate engineering, quality, production, or program lead.\nSupport the development of manufacturable additive manufacturing solutions for customer parts, assemblies, prototypes, production hardware, qualification builds, and program deliverables.\nReview customer drawings, CAD models, specifications, technical data packages, and statements of work to identify requirements, assumptions, missing information, and technical risks.\n2. Customer and Program Engineering Support\nSupport customer, program, and internal engineering activities by translating customer requirements into clear internal technical inputs, build-preparation requirements, inspection needs, and production-readiness actions.\nAssist with customer technical discussions, quote reviews, design reviews, and program execution meetings as assigned.\nPrepare technical questions, assumptions, exceptions, clarifications, meeting notes, action items, and decision records.\nCoordinate with Program Management to support schedule tracking, deliverable status, and customer reporting.\n3. Manufacturing Readiness Support\nSupport engineering-to-production handoff and manufacturing readiness for additive manufacturing jobs and programs. Assist with build-prep instructions, router/traveler inputs, material requirements, inspection requirements, post-processing steps, tooling or fixture needs, witness coupon planning, outside processing assumptions, and data-package requirements.\nParticipate in quote-to-build handoffs, contract review inputs, readiness reviews, production kickoffs, build-risk reviews, KPI reviews, and lessons-learned activities to help reduce production risk and improve repeatability.\n4.
