Thus, LCA provides opportunities which allow students to realize their God-given potential and to live lives that glorify God in the spiritual, academic, social, physical and vocational realms.POSITION SUMMARY: The Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) Teacher is a key member of the Applied Arts Department. This role is responsible for providing high-quality instruction that helps students realize their God-given potential through practical, hands-on life skills. The position primarily focuses on the high school level-specifically Culinary Arts, Sewing/Textiles, and Home Design-while also leading 1-2 middle school classes that cover a broad range of introductory FACS content.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:A bachelor's degree or higher in Family and Consumer Sciences with teacher licensure requiredACSI certification preferredClassroom teaching experience preferred, particularly in a lab-based environmentStrong foundational skills in food preparation, garment construction, and interior design principles ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Create and implement daily, weekly, and unit lesson plansCreate and implement formative and summative assessmentsCreate an atmosphere that is conducive to student learning and achievementOther duties as assigned SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP -1. Act as the spiritual leader in the school and community.2. Show evidence of a consistent time of personal Bible study, prayer, and outreach.3. Maintain a Christ-like attitude.INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM -1. Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning and promote enthusiasm for learning, including:Culinary Arts: Safety/sanitation, nutrition, and meal preparationSewing: Textiles, pattern reading, and garment constructionHome Design: Aesthetics, functional floor planning, and interior styling2. Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.3. Assess and record students' progress and provide grades and feedback.4. Maintain a tidy, orderly, and safe environment in the kitchen and sewing labs, safeguarding student health, and safety at all times.5. Communicate, consult, and cooperate with other members of the school staff.6. Maintain good order and discipline among students under one's care and safeguard their health and safety at all times.7. Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.8. Participate in staff, group, or other meetings related to the school curriculum.9. Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.10. Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.11. Adhere to the standards written for each subject.12. Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.13. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.14. Participate in appropriate professional development and activities.15. Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs, and student organizations as directed.16. Manage and conduct orientation to foster a positive attitude toward our students and mission goals to reflect the overall values of LCA.17. Attend and participate in Chapel and other spiritual activities presented by the Administration and Campus Pastor.17. Fulfill other duties as assigned.COMMUNITY -1.
