This role drives technical building, supports and mentors junior developers, and works closely with teams across the company to deliver high-quality software. The ideal candidate has strong experience with backend systems, APIs, cloud-native architecture, and modern front-end tools. They play a key role in guiding our technical direction and guidelines.\n\nHOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:\n\nHelp build and develop complex backend systems, APIs, and services using modern programming languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, .NET, Java).\nLead the design and integration of scalable RESTful and event-driven APIs that support distributed applications and enterprise platforms.\nDevelop advanced, performant, and accessible web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks such as React, Shadcn, Typescript (or equivalent).\nEstablish and enforce coding standards, build patterns, and guidelines, ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and testable code.\nCollaborate with DevOps and cloud engineering teams to design and support containerized, cloud-native deployments using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.\nDrive and facilitate technical design reviews, architecture discussions, and code reviews, providing guidance and constructive feedback.\nFix and resolve complex production issues, performing root-cause analysis and implementing long-term stability improvements.\nPartner with product managers, UX designers, and collaborators to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.\nDevelop and maintain robust system documentation, including architecture diagrams, API specifications, and operational runbooks.\nKnow the latest new technologies and industry trends, finding opportunities to improve architecture, tooling, or development processes.\nMentor and provide technical leadership to junior and mid-level developers, encouraging skill development and collaborative learning.\nPerform other related duties as assigned.\n\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: May provide technical mentorship or informal leadership to Application Developer I/II roles, but typically does not have direct reports.\n\nQualifications:\nSKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:\n\n5–7+ years of professional experience in software development.\nAdvanced proficiency in one or more backend languages (Python, Node.js, .NET, Java).\nDeep understanding of RESTful API design, microservices, and distributed systems.\nStrong expertise in front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks like React.\nStrong working knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including cloud-native services and deployment patterns.\nExperience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or equivalent) and data modeling guidelines.\nDemonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems across the full stack.\nStrong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to lead technical initiatives.\n\nExperience:\n\n5–7 years in software engineering or application development roles.\nProven experience designing and delivering scalable, production-grade applications in an enterprise or high-availability environment.\nSignificant hands-on experience with Git-based workflows, code review processes, and cross-team collaboration.\nPrior experience mentoring developers or serving as a technical lead on projects is preferred.\n\nEducation:\n\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.\n\n#LI-AR1\n#LI-Hybrid\n\nUS Benefits Statement: Herbalife offers a variety of benefits to eligible employees in the U.S. (limited to the 50 States and the District of Columbia), which includes Group Health Programs, other Voluntary Benefit Programs, and Paid Time Off.
