We are working together to make businesses safer, more sustainable and more productive.\n\nRole Overview:\nLoads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, and moves metal chips from machines to proper containers for recycling. This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.\n\nWork Environment: On-Site Houston, TX\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nOperates forklift truck and stackers to move material and finished products from one location to another.\nRemoves metal chips and refuse by hauling to proper containers for recycling or storing.\nMoves material, product and equipment to and from work area.\nLoads and unloads trucks, and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.\nWorks from route cards, written and verbal instructions from Leader, salaried personnel, or employee being assisted.\nPerforms other incidental duties as the job dictates and/or as directed by Supervisor.\nOpens containers.\nSecures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination.\nStacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.\nLifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist\nWill make company pickups/deliveries for company products, raw materials, and finished goods from vendors and suppliers in the local area\nObtain vendor’s signature on delivery sheets and signed for items received\nMaintains necessary records\nAny other duties as assigned by manager\n\nCritical Competencies for Success:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nHigh Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nDrive and operate a forklift truck a must.\nLift materials weighing up to 40 pounds, in order to load and unload trucks.\nDifferentiate between different types of materials.\nTime management skills.\nAbility to work in a multi-task environment.\nVerbal and written communication skills.\nExcellent organizational skills.\nMust have excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.\nExercise independent judgement and discretion.\nClean driving record.\nOperate floor operated jib and semi-gantry crane.\nOperate two and four wheeled hand trucks.\nFollow verbal and written instructions.\n\nEducation Requirements\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.\n\nPay range: Minimum $22 - $25 / hour\nWithin this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements.
