This role covers microelectronics manufacturing processes such as die attach, wire-bond, AOI, and active alignment.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nManage new product introduction and develop production processes for Micro‑E assemblies\n\nWork with machine vendors to procure, operate, and improve device manufacturing equipment\n\nDesign and execute DOE to optimize microelectronic production processes for high volume and high reliability\n\nCollaborate with design teams and provide design feedback to improve manufacturability and reliability of opto-electronic devices\n\nLead investigation on non-conforming hardware to determine root cause and implement reliability improvements\n\nWork with factory automation teams to bring development processes to high volume production and track product outcomes\n\nIdentify trends and opportunities for optimizing product output, quality enhancements, and cost of manufacturability\n\nDrive corrective actions and process improvements on owned processes and products\n\nCreate work instructions, SOPs, and administer training for production technicians\n\nBasic Qualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, physics, or other engineering discipline\n\n1+ years of hands‑on experience working with microelectronics assembly equipment\n\nPreferred Skills and Experience\n\nAdvanced technical degree\n\n3+ years of hands‑on experience with microelectronics manufacturing processes (die/wire bonding, AOI)\n\nHands‑on experience with electro-optical device manufacturing\n\nHigh volume production experience (consumer goods, automotive, etc.)\n\nHands‑on experience working in SMT processing and/or related PCBA processes from industry, research, or academic projects\n\nExperience with MIL-STD-883, IPC-610 and JEDEC standards relative to micro-electronics\n\nExperience with environmental testing of electronic devices\n\nStrong desire and ability to learn quickly, adapt and innovate\n\nExperience with CAD software\n\nCompetency with SQL/Python\n\nExperience with statistical process control (SPC), design of experiment (DOE), and manufacturing metrics (CPK, OEE, etc.)\n\nExperience with basic failure analysis tools and methods (shear test, pull test, X‑ray, cross-section, SAM)\n\nExcellent communication skills both written and verbal\n\nAbility to work both autonomously and as a team in a highly demanding, fast‑paced environment\n\nAdditional Requirements\n\nAbility to lift heavy objects, up to 25 Ibs unassisted\n\nWilling to work weekends and extended hours as needed\n\nCompensation and Benefits\n\nLevel 1: $105,000.00 - $122,500.00\n\nLevel 2: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00\n\nYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.\n\nBase salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
