Being a part of the Dev/Mission team also exposes you to members of top tech companies, an excellent way to network and advance your career.\nAbout the Role:\nWe are looking for an Independent Contractor to serve as a Registered Pre-Apprenticeship Instructor for the Summer 2026 cohorts. As an instructor, you will facilitate a 10 - Week Registered Pre-Apprenticeship Program where young adults ages 18-24, will be introduced to core STEM concepts. The program will be offered five days per week for three hours per day for a total of 15 hours per week and 150 hours over ten weeks.\nThe four core competencies of this course include, Internet of Things (IoT), IT Essentials (Hardware and Software), Introduction to Programming, AI Literacy and Critical Career Skills.\nImportant Note:\nThis is a Contract Independent Contractor role, not an employee position. As an Independent Contractor, you will be responsible for facilitating the Pre-Apprenticeship program and delivering instructional services to participants in the program. Please note that taxes are not deducted from the hourly rate, and you will receive a 1099 Tax Form at the end of the year for tax reporting purposes. As an Independent Contractor, you are responsible for managing your own tax obligations, and the IRS will determine how much taxes are due on the income earned through this contract.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nFacilitate hardware, software, networking and intro to programming (html, css and javascript) courses to young adults, ages 18-24\nFollow course curriculum and provide resources to participants\nIdentify the technology resources needed to support students individually and in the classroom setting\nResponsible for daily set-up and close-down of the lab\nEnsure all lab supplies and class material, computers, projectors, and other supplies are in good condition, setup correctly, accounted for, organized, and returned\nMaintain consistent communication with participants to help to guide them, assist them with the course, identify risks, and ensure they are able to meet learning objectives\nMaintain a safe, clean, and positive classroom environment\nMaintain a classroom system to track student progress, such as\nattendance and completion of assignments, competency checklist and\ntake steps to ensure academic progress is where it should be\nWork closely with Program Coordinator to identify issues students are having and develop appropriate solutions\nWork with the IoT Volunteers to ensure they have all materials needed to facilitate the IoT sessions\nAttend staff meetings and training sessions\nAttend Corporate Site Visits and assist with student supervision\nSubmit Program Summary Report after completion of every cohort\nQualifications:\nProficiency with front-end frameworks (HTML, CSS and JavaScript) and IT Essentials\nGoogle IT Certification and\nCompTIA+ Certification\nExperience teaching young adults in a group setting\nSTEM, Business or Computer Science background is a plus but not necessary\nWorking knowledge and experience with Apple and Windows Operating Systems\nWorking knowledge and experience in supporting Google Workspace & Google Classroom software\nProven skills in troubleshooting and resolving general desktop computer issues\nAbility to correlate problems with causes, and involve higher-level technical personnel, as needed, for timely resolution of IT network and systems outages\nKnowledge of general network technologies and familiarity with multi-user connectivity\nPositive and professional attitude\nExcellent and engaging presentation skills\nExcellent written and verbal communication\nStrong team building skills\nReliable with excellent organization and time management skills\nFluency in English and must be a great communicator\nAbility to work legally in the United States\nBe eager to learn new educational concepts and tools\nBenefits:\nComputer hardware to be borrowed from the organization during the duration of contract or employment\nContact:\nSend resume and cover letter Leonardo Sosa at by Friday July 17th, 2026\nDev/Mission is an equal opportunity employer.
