The ideal candidate will have experience leading the planning, design, procurement, construction and closeout of multiple projects and have prior experience with higher education and/or athletic field project types.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities:\nDesign processes for the project team to effectively monitor projects utilizing scope, cost, schedule, and risk to ensure the project meets the client’s goals on time and on budget.\nEstablish parameters for project team to assess scope, schedule, and budget changes to maintain compliance with the program goals and objectives.\nProvide overall coordination and implement controls to ensure projects are completed on-time and on-budget per the program contract.\nPartner with the project team to provide proactive solutions to any potential obstacles that need special attention during the project and oversee these solutions through to completion.\nRegularly assess the status of work, establish, and oversee quality assurance and control programs for projects.\nLead a project team, either a large project or multiple projects or a whole program.\nDefine technical scope of project.\nReview cost estimates.\nManage project level conflict resolution.\nMaintain monthly project budgets for current and forecasted expenditures.\nFacilitate and maintain communications with the client in addition to providing monthly/weekly/daily reports.\nAchieve the client’s objectives by successfully managing the client’s project, goals, and objectives.\nOther duties as assigned.\nAttendance at work during normal business hours.\nKnowledge & Skills Required:\nExperience designing processes to effectively monitor project details.\nAbility to lead a project team of various sizes.\nDemonstrated experience defining the technical scope of a project.\nExperience reviewing cost estimates and maintaining monthly project budgets for both current and forecast.\nManage and monitor team members' activity in alignment with organizational goals.\nDelegate providing clear instructions and ongoing feedback.\nMonitor metrics and course correct as necessary while holding self and others accountable.\nProvide feedback to senior leaders and clearly communicate organizational direction to team members.\nBuild relationships with key internal resources (peers, direct reports, & senior leaders).\nCreate development opportunities and plan for direct reports and teams; provide ongoing feedback.\nExercise creativity and resourcefulness in independently managing the project effectively in a compressed timeframe.\nAbility to distinguish between cause and effect of problems.\nActively listen and communicate effectively, clearly, unambiguously, and completely in both written and oral formats.\nPreferred Education and Experience:\nBachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.\nA minimum of fifteen (15) years in project management, engineering, or construction management.\nExperience with multiple project delivery methods, such as design-bid- build, design-build, CMAR, JOC, or TOCA.\nPrior experience with educational facility projects and/or athletic field projects highly preferred.\nExperience with Cal State University's construction process and procedures preferred.\nPreferred Certification: CCM, PMP, PE, AIA, LEED\n#LI-NH1\nCumming Group is committed to providing Equal Employment Opportunity in its personnel policies and practices.
