Center Director (after school program)
We are seeking a dedicated, entrepreneurial, and growth-minded individual to take on the role of Center Director at an established after-school education center. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about children’s education and excited by leadership, business operations, and long-term growth opportunities.
As Center Director, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the center, work closely with current and prospective families, manage staff, run center classes, and handle administrative responsibilities. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized learning environment.
Training will be provided to prepare you for success in this leadership role.
Work Schedule & Flexibility
Classes run 4 days a week, approximately 16 hours per week (work schedule is distributed 5-6 days a week)
Classes are held in the late afternoon to early evening
The Center Director must be present when classes are in session
Meetings with current and prospective parents must be scheduled outside class hours
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
Manage and run after-school class
Plan the work for students attending the center
Collaborate with center staff to manage and operate an established after-school education center
Screen, interview, and hire suitable employees
Train new staff, observe teaching techniques, and support ongoing professional development
Manage center finances, including budgeting, fee tracking, and account settlement
Conduct parent conferences and maintain strong relationships with families
Ensure the center is adequately stocked with supplies and educational materials
Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall condition of the center facilities
Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new students and families
Attend regional meetings and national conferences as required
Participate in weekly status meetings
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor’s degree (all fields welcome)This position is especially suitable for recent college graduates; full training will be provided
Strong leadership, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities
Effective verbal and written communication skills
High attention to detail and accountability
Passion for children’s education and long-term center growth
Ability to work during late afternoon and early evening hours
Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident
