Senior Construction Manager
OverviewThe Construction QA/QC Manager serves as the owner’s quality authority for a large‑scale industrial EPC program supporting advanced manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring all construction activities (self‑performed and subcontracted) meet design intent, specifications, and applicable codes. The position partners closely with engineering, construction, procurement, and project controls teams and influences quality decisions from early design reviews through final system turnover. This is a highly visible, high‑accountability leadership role on a complex, fast‑paced industrial campus.Day to Day ResponsibilitiesAct as the owner’s QA/QC representative across all construction scopesParticipate in early design reviews to identify quality risks, constructability issues, and inspection hold pointsDevelop, implement, and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)Contract, schedule, and manage 3–4 third‑party inspection agencies (10–15 inspectors total)Provide oversight to 1 internal QA/QC technicianPerform site walks to identify non‑conformances and ensure corrective actions are tracked and closedReview and audit QC turnover documentation (MTRs, weld logs, NDT reports, concrete test results, etc.)Review drawings, scopes of work, RFPs, and contractor invoices for quality alignmentTrack, analyze, and report quality metrics and trends to project leadershipBalance office‑based QA work (~75%) with field execution (~25%)Coordinate closely with engineering, construction management, and commissioning teams through turnoverRequired Skills5+ years of construction QA/QC management experienceBackground in industrial or large‑scale building constructionDemonstrated experience across:Civil, foundations, and concreteRebar and structural steelPiping and weldingProven experience managing third‑party inspection agenciesStrong working knowledge of IBC, IFC, ACI, and AISC codesExperience reviewing drawings, scopes of work, invoices, and RFPsAbility to operate effectively in both office and field environmentsWillingness to work 5 days onsiteStrong leadership presence with an ownership mindsetBroad technical understanding across multiple construction disciplinesBonus SkillsCWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certificationExperience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)Proficiency with Bluebeam for drawing reviewFamiliarity with CXAlloy or similar QA/QC documentation platformsExperience managing special inspectors at scaleBackground in EPC or heavy industrial construction environments
