The role will perform inspections at various stages of construction to verify that the materials, techniques, and workmanship meet the required thresholds for safety and quality.\nResponsibilities:\n\nConducting on-site inspections of buildings and construction projects at different phases of development\nEvaluating structural components, materials, foundations and systems to ensure compliance with building codes and standards\nVerifying that construction practices align with approved plans and specifications\nIdentifying and document deviations from regulations and recommending corrective actions\nMaintaining detailed inspection records, including photographs, reports, and notes\nPreparing comprehensive inspection reports outlining findings, observations, and deficiencies\nCommunicating inspection results effectively to managers as necessary\nStaying updated with changes in building codes and regulations, ensuring compliance\nCollaborating with engineers and other construction professionals to address compliance issues\nMaintaining accurate and current inspection records\nExercising tact and courtesy when conducting inspections and dealing with clients\nDrives to various job sites at locations locally and statewide following all driving laws\nAttending department meetings and following safety procedures and policies\nWorking in varying shift schedules, including weekends and overnight shifts as needed\nTravel within Florida as required\nComplete daily time and labor reports promptly\nOther duties may be assigned\n\nJob Responsibilities Note:\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. UES retains the right to add to or change the duties of the position at any time.\nQualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent; welding certificate program or vocational training preferred.\n0–2 years of experience in materials testing or inspections\nValid driver’s license with acceptable driving record\nBasic computer skills and familiarity with reporting tools\nStrong mathematical, problem-solving, and time management skills.\nAbility to read and interpret basic blueprints and technical documents.\nCertification in inspection-related fields (ACI, ICC, etc.) preferred but not required at hire\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field (preferred).\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license or relevant certification (preferred or required depending on jurisdiction).\nExperience in structural inspection, construction oversight, or related field.\nStrong knowledge of building codes, standards, and construction practices.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.\nTravel Requirements:\nThis position requires moderate travel, approximately up to 40% of the time, in support of business\nobjectives and client engagements. Travel may be both scheduled and on short notice, depending on\nproject needs. Destinations typically include job sites, field locations, or regional offices, where work may\nbe conducted in outdoor or operational environments.
