Join Kearfott and become part of a company that is recognized for technical expertise and respected world-wide as a ‘full service' provider.\n\nFor more information visit our website at www.kearfott.com\n\nAlgorithm Engineer I\n\nSkills and Responsibilities\n\nNavigation and Localization\n\nImplement basic navigation, localization, estimation, and sensor-processing algorithms from detailed designs.\nAssist experienced engineers with the development of advanced navigation and sensor-fusion algorithms.\nSupport analysis and troubleshooting of algorithm performance, numerical issues, and integration problems.\nDevelop foundational knowledge of Kalman filtering, Bayesian estimation, inertial navigation, GNSS, and sensor fusion.\nConduct full system investigations using simulations, desktop analyses, recorded data, and vehicle or platform test data under the guidance of experienced engineers.\n\nModel Based Workflows\n\nWork within the Model-Based Design and Systems Engineering workflow, particularly using the MathWorks toolchain.\nDevelop and maintain basic MATLAB and Simulink models, simulations, test cases, and analysis scripts.\nSupport requirements tracing, model reviews, verification, and validation activities.\nFollow established modeling, coding, configuration-management, and documentation processes.\n\nSensors\n\nSupport analysis and processing of GPS/GNSS measurements and related signal-processing data.\nSupport analysis of inertial sensor data from Ring Laser Gyros, Fiber Optic Gyros, and MEMS sensors.\n\nRequired Skills:\n\nRelevant Tool Proficiencies\n\nMATLAB or Python (experience with Simulink and C is a plus)\nBasic modeling, simulation, data analysis, and visualization.\nBasic algorithm testing, verification, and validation.\nFamiliarity with object-oriented programming concepts.\nFamiliarity with Git or other configuration-management tools.\n\nTechnical and Analytical Skills\n\nUnderstanding of engineering mathematics, linear algebra, probability, statistics, and numerical methods.\nAbility to analyze data, identify trends, document results, and communicate technical findings.\nAbility to work effectively with software, systems, test, electrical, and hardware engineers.\n\nEducation/Other\n\nB.S. or greater in Engineering, Physics or Applied Mathematics\nTravel - Approximately 10% for customer reviews, technical meetings, integration activities, and test support.\nMust be a US Citizen\n\nIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey is $80,000 - $95,000 annually.
