Our program is tailored to offer a comprehensive understanding of the operations and responsibilities within a sheriff’s office, bridging the gap between academic studies and real‑world application.\nInterns will be immersed in various aspects of law enforcement, including but not limited to patrol operations, criminal investigations, community outreach, and administrative support. This program not only allows students to gain practical experience but also fosters a deeper appreciation for public service and the challenges faced by law enforcement professionals. This Internship Program is tailored for students who are seeking an education in the following degree areas or similar: Criminal Justice, Criminology, Internal Affairs, Media Relations, or Communications\nKey highlights of our internship program include:\nMentorship and Guidance: Each intern will be paired with an experienced officer or civilian personnel who will provide mentorship and supervision throughout the program.\nHands‑On Experience: Interns will have the opportunity to participate in ride‑alongs, assist with investigations, and contribute to community policing initiatives.\nNetworking Opportunities: Interns will interact with various departments within the sheriff’s office, as well as with community leaders and the public.\nBE TRUTHFUL‑ ANY false or undisclosed information provided by an applicant may result in automatic disqualification.\nValid email addresses for all personal references must be provided.\nThe St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is only accepting online applications. If you do not have a computer or one accessible to you, your local library is a great resource for internet and computer usage, or an applicant can come to the Sheriff’s Office and fill out the application.
