This position is remote. The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of coding experience with facility inpatient services. The position requires one to be resourceful, organized, independent, and extremely driven.\nThe ideal candidate will possess the following:\nMinimum 5 years of coding experience\nExtensive coding in all aspects of inpatient coding\nHigh level of proficiency in anatomy, physiology, disease process, and pharmacology\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nDetail oriented and deadline driven attitude\nSound knowledge of medical terminology\nStrong computer skills (Excel, Word, and internet)\nAbility to think critically\nAbility to multitask and keep a sense of urgency\nExcellent customer service skills\nStrong time management, organization skills, and work ethic\nJob Duties:\nAccurately code medical records for all inpatient services\nFollow current ICD-10-CM and PCS coding guidelines\nAccurately assign POA (Present on Admission) indicators\nUnderstand and apply MS-DRGs and APR-DRGs\nAbstract additional client elements (ie: providers, surgical dates, etc)\nAbility to communicate effectively with Clinical Documentation Improvement specialists and reconcile DRGs\nAbility to work independently and meet project deadlines\nStay updated about new coding rules as codes routinely change\nResponsible and accountable for maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected health information.
