The Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer 1 is responsible for designing and fabricating production tooling and equipment, participating and Co leading Lean process and tooling improvement Kaizen events in our manufacturing facility using Lean principles.\n\nThis role will be onsite at Davis, CA.\nJob Description\nParticipate in Kaizen events and support production Supervisors and Manufacturing Engineers with tooling and process improvements.\nDesigns and fabricates new tooling and fixtures, or repairs and improves existing tools and fixtures.\nParticipates in process observation and value stream mapping to understand processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and define improvement activities.\nCo-Leads and participates in Kaizen events and improvement efforts.\nIdentifies, collects and analyzes relevant data for current state and improvements. Documents and communicates the results.\nMeasures, documents, and communicates SQDC improvements for Lean activities.\nYou are meant for this job if:\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or similar field\n0-3 years of experience in related field\nFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing principles\nDemonstrated ability to design, and fabricate tooling and fixtures using Mills, Lathes, 3D printers, CNC equipment, etc.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\nStrong analytical skills\nStrong CAD Skills, preferably in Solidworks\nInterest in learning about different operational processes and investigating improvement opportunities.\nPreferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities\nPractices a “go-and-see”, hands-on approach to understanding and problem solving\nConsistently shows respect and professionalism\nWillingness to work with people across functions and find solutions that are best from the overall business unit standpoint\nEngages others by seeking their input and facilitating the creation of a process that is accepted by all stakeholders\nAble to manage different viewpoints to create a positive atmosphere\nAble to hold others accountable and drive implementations that require actions from others\nAble to manage resistance from peers, supervisors or managers when implementing change\nResilient in implementing change when encountering setbacks or obstacles\nFamiliarity with using A3 thinking and writing A3s\nExperience with data collection and analysis, including performance charting and Pareto charts\nExperience with pivot tables and MRP system\nExperience with production management tools like standardized work documents, countermeasure boards, SQDC kiosks\nExperience facilitating problem solving activities\nOther duties, as assigned.\n\nWork Environment\nRegularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, read, listen, and speak.\nManual dexterity using hands, fingers, and arms to push, pull, reach, grab, hold, and lift.\nAbility to lift up to 40 pounds.\nRegularly required to sit & stand for long periods of time.\nFrequent use of PC\nNear large equipment including forklifts and machine shop equipment\n\nSalary: $70,000 - $90,000\nTechnipFMC offers employees a comprehensive benefits package.
