This position is required to assist in writing, testing, maintaining, and supporting PL/SQL scripts in Windows, Linux, and MacOS operating systems. The successful candidate will have experience in application development using current, industry-standard technologies. This role requires an individual with proficient communication and people skills coupled with technical understanding of the software development lifecycle. Working with the technical staff and functional/business units is essential.\n\nExamples of Duties\nCreate SQL query statements to satisfy user requests for reporting.\nPrepare data for job runs.\nSupport existing jobs or query request.\nDesign Argos Datablocks for reporting.\nCollaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical specifications.\nExtract, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources including SQL databases, ERP systems, and CSV files.\nMonitor data quality and troubleshoot reporting issues as they arise.\nProvide training and support to end-users on self-service reporting tools.\nTroubleshoot, analyze, and change user requests for reporting purposes.\nDevelop and/or enhance standard operating procedures.\nAbility to demonstrate the learning capability to cope with fast-paced development.\nWrite ad-hoc SQL queries to support data analysis.\nAbility to prioritize and multitask.\nExperience optimizing report performance.\nProblem solve Banner module issues.\nLinux server tasks\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nTypical Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. May substitute the equivalent in a combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.\nOne or more years of significant and relevant systems administration experience.\nSolid foundational knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)\n3+ years’ experience with database languages Transact SQL (T-SQL), Procedural Language (PL)/SQL and related technologies.\n1+ years of experience in Relational database concepts, relational logical modeling, best practices, and/or physical design.\nDesign and evaluate methods or scripts to address Banner user requests.\nUnderstand industry standard best practices for Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)\nSupplemental Information\nUnit Test and SQL Query optimization\nExperience with Argos reporting tool.\nUse of Toad Software\nBanner 9 modules\nLinux commands\nReporting tool experience is a plus.\nAbility to prioritize and multitask.\nDeadline driven and meticulous.\nCurrent CompTIA, Microsoft, or other industry related certification\nExcellent written and verbal communication\nExcellent customer service skills\nEmployer\nHampton University\nAddress\n200 William R.
