{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"6fca3f7e246db9d5679fd0fc","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/6fca3f7e246db9d5679fd0fc","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/6fca3f7e246db9d5679fd0fc","title":"Systems Administrator","description":"Overview:\nSystems Administrator (C80-2026-25926):\n\nBowhead seeks a Systems Administrator to join our team at Naval Surface Warfare Center located at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story.\n\nResponsibilities:\nSupport the IT team by responding to users’ requests in the form of email, phone calls, and physical meetups depending on the issue.\nGrow your IT expertise by learning and working with all kinds of hardware and software\nLearn and develop your professional communication and customer support skills\nConfigures and manages Linux/RHEL and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing enhancements to improve reliability and performance\nTroubleshoot and resolve application technical issues\nAssist with user account management and security administration\nSupport system backups and recovery procedures\nHelp maintain system documentation and operational procedures\nRespond to user support requests related to system functionality\nTake ownership of the above tasks, while also continuously looking for other tasks or projects to own or support as new ones emerge.\nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications:\nBachelors degree required\nFour or more (4+) years profession experience in IT or Systems Administration\nDoD 8140 IAT Level II cert (e.g., Security+ CE or equivalent)\nProficiency with Active Directory, GPO creation/troubleshooting, OS deployment tooling, and PowerShell automation\nStrong understanding of system monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and operational best practices.\nUnderstanding of basic networking, including subnets, routing, and VLANs\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nClear, analytical thinking; driving towards problem resolution\nFundamental understanding of operating system concepts, system interconnectivity, virtualization, hardware and software management, active directory and group policy, file systems, client/server interoperability, performance analysis, system vulnerability assessment, remediation and prevention.\nProfessional and effective communication skills (both verbal and written) between customers, team members, and line management.\nAbility to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision from senior leadership.\n\nThese Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:\n\nFamiliar with Navy or DOD environments.\n1-2 years of Linux administration\nBasic knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Python)\nLinux + ce Certification\nNMCI administration experience\nNMCI/NAUTILUS Purebred Agent\nSharePoint Administration experience\nSQL Database Administration experience\n\nTarget salary is $85,000/annually to $95,000/annually commensurate with experience\n\nPhysical Demands:\nMust be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds\nMust be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time\nMust be able to twist, bend and squat periodically\n\nSECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.
