In this role, you will provide leadership, direction, and expertise to plant management and associates, ensuring regulatory compliance, minimizing workplace risks, and fostering a proactive culture of safety excellence across all manufacturing operations.\n\nThis is an impactful individual contributor role where you'll drive strategic risk reduction, continuous improvement, and operational excellence while supporting a workforce of 100–150 associates.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead Safety Culture: Champion a proactive culture of safety, accountability, and engagement across all facility operations\nEnsure Regulatory Compliance: Interpret and implement federal, state, and local EHS laws; maintain compliance with environmental permits and programs (waste, wastewater, air, and other regulatory requirements)\nManage Risk: Lead comprehensive risk assessments, conduct facility inspections and audits, and implement preventive measures to reduce organizational exposure\nDevelop & Deliver Training: Design, deliver, and evaluate EHS training programs on safe work practices and environmental requirements for all personnel\nInvestigate Incidents: Conduct thorough root cause analyses of safety and environmental incidents; establish effective prevention methods\nCoordinate Emergency Response: Maintain emergency response protocols and comprehensive incident documentation\nBuild Relationships: Develop collaborative working relationships with regulatory agencies, fire departments, wastewater authorities, and internal cross-functional teams\nMaintain VPP Status: Collaborate with plant and divisional teams to maintain and advance Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) status\nDrive Continuous Improvement: Develop tools for measuring and reporting the effectiveness of safety and environmental initiatives\nManage Contractor Safety: Establish and oversee contractor safety requirements, permitting processes, and compliance activities\nSupport Case Management: Partner with HR and Operations on injury case management and return-to-work activities\nReport & Communicate: Generate analytical reports, track trends, and communicate EHS performance metrics to all levels of the organization\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field — OR equivalent experience\nManufacturing or operations environment experience preferred\nOSHA, EPA, and DOT regulatory knowledge required\nCertified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification preferred\nKey Skills & Competencies\nStrong safety leadership with the ability to influence and engage diverse teams\nExpert knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations\nProven experience in risk assessment, hazard analysis, and incident investigation (root cause analysis)\nExcellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and training skills\nProficiency in data analysis, trend identification, and compliance reporting\nExperience with EHS management systems (ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001) and VPP programs\nStrong understanding of industrial hygiene principles\nCrisis management and emergency response coordination experience\nProject management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously\nAbility to build and maintain relationships with internal teams, management, and external regulatory agencies\nLearning agility — ability to quickly adapt to new regulatory changes and industry best practices\nWork Environment & Physical Requirements\nSplit time between office environment and manufacturing floor\nTypical Monday–Friday schedule; must be available for emergency response outside normal business hours\nExposure to manufacturing environment including industrial equipment, varying temperatures, noise above 85db, solvents, inks, and fumes\nMust be able to stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, work on elevated platforms, and wear required PPE\nOccasional lifting up to 25 pounds\nOccasional travel to support locations, regulatory meetings, and training sessions\n\nRequirements\nMust be 18+ years old\nMust pass pre-employment screening (drug test, background check)\nInternal candidates must demonstrate Core Values and be in good standing with no disciplinary issues\nPrintpack is proudly an equal-opportunity employer.
