The Data Management Technical Lead will be responsible for overseeing the implementation, administration, and optimization of our data management environment. This work is located onsite in the DC area.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead the configuration, deployment, and administration of Azure cloud resources and services, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.\nManage Azure Storage, Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL Database for data storage and analysis needs.\nOversee Azure Active Directory and other Azure services to manage user access, security, and compliance.\nImplement automation and scripting solutions for Azure resource management using tools like Azure CLI, PowerShell, and Azure Automation.\nOptimize database performance, backup strategies, and disaster recovery planning.\nPerform database migrations, version upgrades, and ensure consistent database health across environments.\nAdminister and troubleshoot Apache Tomcat servers used for web application deployments and integration with data management systems.\nMonitor and optimize Tomcat server performance, ensuring reliable and efficient deployment of applications and services.\nUse R Studio to design, implement, and maintain data analysis and modeling solutions that support decision-making across business units.\nOptimize R scripts and packages for large-scale data processing and analysis.\nLead the design and implementation of data pipelines using Azure Databricks, ensuring efficient and scalable data processing workflows.\nOptimize data engineering tasks within Databricks, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.\nDevelop and manage interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI, transforming raw data into actionable insights.\nGuide teams in creating automated reporting solutions and data visualization best practices.\nProvide technical leadership and mentoring to junior data engineers, database administrators, and data analysts.\nProvide technical recommendations and solutions to support data-driven business processes, helping teams leverage data effectively.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.\n7+ years of experience in data management, with at least 3+ years in a technical leadership or SME role.\nExpertise in Azure Administration and management, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Storage.\nDeep understanding of SQL Server/Database Administration, including performance tuning, backup strategies, and migrations.\nHands-on experience with Apache Tomcat for web application and service management.\nProficiency with R Studio for data analysis, modeling, and statistical computations.\nExperience working with Azure Databricks for data engineering and big data processing.\nAdvanced knowledge of Power BI for report creation, data visualization, and dashboard management.\nProven ability to lead technical teams, mentor staff, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.\nUnderstanding of data governance, security protocols, and regulatory compliance standards related to data management.\nDesirable Skills:\nExperience with Azure DevOps for continuous integration and deployment of data management solutions.\nFamiliarity with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or Azure CLI.\nCertifications in Microsoft Azure, SQL Server, Databricks, or Power BI are a plus.\nExperience with Machine Learning or AI applications in data management (e.g., using R or Databricks).\nClearance:\nApplicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Public Trust clearance is required.\nCompensation and Benefits\nSalary Range: $100,000 - $180,000 (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs.
