Volunteer: Become a Volunteer Child Advocate in Autauga County!

The Court Appointed Special Advocate program of Autauga and Chilton Counties, Alabama, works with the Juvenile Court in our counites . Community volunteers are appointed by the judge to learn all they can about the children on their case, monitor, make recommendations, and speak in court for the best interest of dependent children. They work closely with the Guardian ad Litem, serving in the role of "friend of the court.", Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) are community members who are trained and appointed by the Juvenile Court Judge to work with a child in in the court system due to family issues. We try to be a stable, positive adult connection during a traumatic time in the child's life. A CASA is a listening ear, an encourager, and a person who makes recommendations in court about whatever is in the best interest of the child.
