Paraeducator PositionEast Grand Middle School is seeking a paraeducator inspired to be supportive, student-centered, and growth-minded. All employees of East Grand Middle School work together to support our students' academic & social emotional learning and growth. In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed below, we seek paraprofessionals who are collaborative with colleagues, empathetic in their relationships with students and families, and willing to work hard to ensure success for students.Essential Duties:Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced and outlined by certified staffModel and foster independent thinking skills, creative problem solving and abstract reasoningShow empathy and understanding of students and holds students accountableCommunicate consistently and effectively with students, parents and colleaguesPerform assigned supervision of studentsDemonstrate ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students in the school environment and communityDevelop a cooperative partnership based on mutual respect with colleagues and studentsCommunicate and collaborate with teachers on needs of the classroomFacilitate resolution of problems that might arise with studentsKnowledge of and adherence to approved communication pathwaysComplete other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent (e.g., the GED); andAptitude for the work to be performedInterest in children and educationWritten and oral communication skillsAbility to work collaborativelyStrong self-starter; able to work with limited directionAbility to apply superb judgmentWorking Environment: East Grand Middle School is a public school located in Granby, Colorado, 90 miles NW of Denver and 20 miles from the Winter Park Ski area. School is in session Monday Thursday from 8 a.m. 4:15 p.m. EGMS has approximately 300 students in grades 6-8 and serves the communities of Winter Park, Fraser, Tabernash, Granby, Grand Lake, Hot Sulphur Springs, and beyond.Starting at $19.70 an hour.
