Development & Public Relations Coordinator
Position Summary
The Development & Public Relations Coordinator supports the organization’s mission of expanding access to oral healthcare by managing fundraising initiatives, donor relations, and external communications. This role maintains donor tracking, assists with grant submissions, coordinates fundraising campaigns and events, and develops marketing and public relations materials to promote the organization’s impact. The coordinator helps strengthen community awareness, donor engagement, and brand visibility to advance access to dental care for underserved populations.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Donor Relations
Coordinate annual fundraising campaigns, donor appeals, and special initiatives supporting dental access programs.
Draft donor acknowledgments, impact reports, and stewardship communications.
Support cultivation and stewardship events, such as clinic tours, donor appreciation gatherings, and fundraising galas.
Conduct prospect research for individual donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors, especially those in healthcare and dental industries.
Database & Reporting
Maintain accurate donor and gift records in the tracking documents.
Generate donor reports, mailing lists, and fundraising performance analytics.
Ensure donor data integrity and confidentiality.
Grant Support
Assist with the preparation and submission of grant proposals and reports for oral health, wellness, and healthcare access funding opportunities.
Track deadlines and maintain accurate grant files.
Marketing & Communications
Manage and update content for the organization’s website, newsletters, and social media platforms.
Develop marketing materials, press releases, and media pitches to highlight dental programs and patient impact stories.
Collaborate with staff to gather photos, testimonials, and success stories for use in fundraising and PR materials.
Monitor media coverage, maintain press lists, and build relationships with local media outlets.
Support branding consistency across all print and digital communications.
Administrative & Program Support
Assist with event logistics, including fundraising events, continuing education courses, and community engagement activities.
Prepare development and marketing materials, presentations, and donor packets.
Support budget tracking for development and marketing initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, public relations, marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2–3 years of experience in fundraising, marketing, communications, or nonprofit development preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey compelling impact stories.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with social media management, website content updates, and digital marketing tools.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience in healthcare or dental-related nonprofits.
Event planning experience for donor and community engagement.
Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) a plus.
Knowledge of digital fundraising platforms and email marketing software.
Pay: $28.85 - $36.06 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 25.0 per week
