The Engineer mainly focuses on the development, manufacturing, and implementation of new tooling, maintenance, and optimization of existing tooling. They partner with team members in various continuous improvement activities and ensure high quality production yields for the different plating processes.\n\nMain Responsibilities\n\nSupport day-to-day shop floor production activities:\n\nEvaluate tooling related issues with surface finishing and electro-plating processes. Resolve issues to improve processes economically while still maintaining quality.\n\nProvide technical expertise and support to plating operators, machinists, maintenance, and management.\n\nEvaluate tooling condition and performance to determine maintenance or replacement requirements.\n\nHands‑on repair and maintenance upkeep of existing tooling and fixtures.\n\nDesign and develop plating tooling for the processing of new parts being introduced to the facility.\n\nReverse‑engineer existing tooling and troubleshoot issues.\n\nProcure and test plating tooling, fixtures, and replacement components from suppliers.\n\nOrganize and structure tooling inventory for the processing shop.\n\nMaintain organized breakdown of supplier tooling expense documents (quotes, POs, CAPEX forms, etc.) for cost comparison and analysis.\n\nDocument and participate as needed in audits for NADCAP and AS9100.\n\nIdeal Candidate\n\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field.\n\nStrong mechanical aptitude, problem solving and analytical skills.\n\nPrevious experience designing tooling and fixturing including GD&T, methods of construction, and material selection.\n\nExperience with SolidWorks and/or Catia (or equivalent CAD program).\n\nEffectively collaborate with other engineers and operators.\n\nExperience with process implementation and continuous improvement.\n\nAbility to follow DFM/DFMA concepts to improve quality and lower costs.\n\nWork Culture and Environment\nHéroux-Devtek offers you the opportunity to work in a diverse and team-oriented environment where skills development is a top priority.
