Job Summary The Certified Nurse Midwife at PreveaHealth is responsible for full scope of midwifery services, includingGYN throughout the life-cycle, prenatal education, attending childbirth,providing encouragement during labor and delivery, and supervising thegeneral care of women and children directly after birth. Facilitatescare to women during normal pregnancies and deliveries and calls onobstetricians or other physicians if complications develop. Providesmedical services and contributes to the design and delivery of highquality, values- based patient care for Prevea Health patients. What youwill do Manages the overall care of healthy childbearing through theprenatal, intrapartum and postpartum experience, including newbornassessment at delivery and lactation support. Provides gynecologicalcare such as wellness exams and family planning assistance. Evaluatesand provides treatment procedures necessary in urgent medical situationsand consults the collaborating or on-call physician. Prescribesmedications and therapies appropriate to their scope of practice.Provides primary care to women, which includes the following: Obtainshistories and perform appropriate medical exams; conduct healthscreening procedures; diagnose, treat, and monitor common and acutehealth care problems; and provide health education May act as surgicalassistant at c-section and Gynecological procedures. EducationQualifications Master\'s Degree graduate of an accredited school ofnursing and midwifery program accredited by the American College ofNurse Midwives (ACNM) Required Experience Qualifications 1-3 Yearsclinical experience as a registered nurse in labor and deliveryPreferred Skills and Abilities Able to maintain appropriate and completeclinical records, fostering communication between health care providers,continuity of care, and coordination of services.
