This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our laboratory and enterprise systems.\n\nResponsibilities:\nResponsible for leading development of LIMS enhancements backlog:\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and services.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.\nWrite clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.\nEnhancements backlog may include:\nBusiness driven net new features/ functionality (i.e., product backlog)\nAutomation tools to improve system reliability and performance.\nCollaborate with development teams to ensure applications are designed with reliability and scalability in mind.\nPartner with Product Manager and Business Analyst teams to ensure voice of the customer is translated into the development outcomes\nSkills / Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field experience.\nExperience working with LIMS platforms (e.g., LabWare, STARLIMS, LabVantage).\n3+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps role.\nStrong proficiency in Java and experience with backend development.\nExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).\nProficiency with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).\nFamiliarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).\nExperience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).\nStrong understanding of Linux/Unix systems and networking.\n\nPreferred:\n\nKnowledge of laboratory workflows and data management in scientific environments.\nFamiliarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.\nExposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.\nExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).\nCompany Overview:\n\nElement is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
