A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:\n\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent.\nTwo (2) years computer database and/or troubleshooting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nPrior experience operating a SCADA system preferred.\nMust be familiar with TCEQ regulations covering Public Water Systems and Wastewater Collection Systems.\nMust be familiar with SCADA systems, instrumentation and controls, equipment and facilities common to the Water and Wastewater industries, and their principles of operation.\nMust possess or can obtain at least a Class II Wastewater and Class C Water Distribution Certification.\nMust possess a valid State of Texas Driver’s License.\n\nThe System Technician monitors, operates, and maintains the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to ensure the effective operation of the Town’s Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Systems.
