This role ensures compliance with all applicable municipal, county, and landlord regulations while coordinating with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to secure necessary approvals prior to project execution.Key ResponsibilitiesResearch zoning regulations, permitting requirements, municipal codes, and related fees for project sites Review property details, local jurisdictions, and landlord or developer requirements Evaluate construction and signage plans to ensure compliance with local regulations Prepare Site Assessment Reports (SARs) that include permits, site plans, maps, and fee information Share project information with internal teams, clients, architects, landlords, and vendors Coordinate with installation vendors and engineering partners to support permit approvals Prepare, submit, and track permit applications to help keep projects on schedule Communicate with sales teams, project managers, and clients regarding permitting and code requirements Review signage SARs to ensure timelines and project requests are properly managed Attend kickoff meetings and occasional variance hearings when needed Support special permitting projects, including national signage rollouts and window wrap programs Assist project management teams with additional documentation requests, such as surveys or compliance information Process permitting-related purchase orders through the company ERP system Maintain organized and accurate project records throughout the permitting process Core SkillsStrong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organization and time management skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Analytical thinking and research skills QualificationsRequiredProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to read and understand technical documents and plans Strong multitasking and time management abilities PreferredExperience with permitting, zoning, construction, or signage projects Familiarity with municipal codes and permitting processes Experience using ERP or project management software Permitting Specialist II – Advanced RoleThe Permitting Specialist II is a more experienced role responsible for handling complex permitting projects independently.
