You will be working closely with project managers and other engineers to leverage their technical experience and expertise in controls, instrumentation, networking, and software development to deliver high‑quality and high‑value solutions.\n\nThis position will be onsite in Portage, IN with an off‑shift of 3pm‑11pm or 11pm‑7am.\n\nYou Will\n\nDesign and implementation of automation and control systems for metals industry applications\n\nCollaborate with engineering and other support teams to ensure successful project completion\n\nResponsible for aspects of project budget and schedule requirements\n\nAssist in the development and maintenance of standards and best practices\n\nDevelop overall system and communication architecture for industrial control projects\n\nSpecify and configure various hardware components such as AC/DC drives, switchgear and industrial control panels\n\nPerform functional testing of electrical and control systems\n\nProvide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers\n\nGenerate functional requirements documentation and test procedures\n\nSupport the sales team in the development of technical solutions\n\nBe an ambassador who embodies our core values, prioritizing the success of E Tech Group, our clients, and the professional development of our associates.\n\nYou Have\n\nBS Engineering degree or equivalent educational background\n\n3+ years of experience with AC or DC motors and drives, PLCs, and HMIs.\n\nIndustrial Automation experience\n\nWorking knowledge and experience with PLC, VSD, and SCADA systems\n\nStrong software and data communication problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills\n\nLead field start‑up testing of electrical and programmed control systems, drive setup, installation inspection, operational readiness testing, and site acceptance testing.\n\nAbility to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.\n\nA DNA comprised of collaboration and teamwork.\n\nYou May Have\n\nMotion control with coordinated drive systems\n\nExperience with common metals processes such as hot or cold rolling, extrusion, press braking, stamping, heat treatment, casting, forging, oxygen furnaces, arc or blast furnaces, ladle treatment, galvanizing, pickling, or plating.\n\nProcess line experience with auxiliaries such as hydraulics, pneumatics, coaters, furnaces, and cooling systems.\n\nExperience with Legacy Rockwell, GE, or Siemens PLC Systems.
