It would also include working collaboratively with other engineers on the team to build out the future of PEAK6's Finance and Operations software. Additionally, Software Engineers regularly work across teams (engineering, operations and trading) to ensure that their solutions integrate seamlessly to support a great experience for operators in a live trading environment.\r\nWhat you'll do all day\r\nCollaborating with operations, finance and technology teams on back office processes, creating applications for both end-users as well as more robust automation to ensure firm position and PnL are correct before the trading day and throughout.\r\nOwning execution of key initiatives that align with strategic business plans for the operations space.\r\nContribute to the full product development lifecycle of critical tools that enable assignments, reconciliation, etc, and firm position visibility.\r\nEnsuring quality and correctness of applications through understanding the applications and how they are used by operations and finance.\r\nMonitoring applications in production for performance and effectiveness, always looking for areas to improve existing workflows.\r\nTroubleshooting production issues quickly and efficiently.\r\nWe're looking for someone who has\r\n2+ years of software engineering experience\r\nA willingness to learn new languages, frameworks, and development techniques (be willing to learn Java, Airflow, Kafka)\r\nA learning mindset\r\nExcellent problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.\r\nFamiliarity with Linux platform.\r\nStrong collaboration and communication skills to thrive in a dynamic and self-directed environment\r\nBachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related.\r\nTrading or finance industry experience is preferred.\r\nOUR REWARDS\r\nWe offer a robust package of employee perks and benefits, including healthcare benefits (medical, dental and vision, EAP), competitive PTO, 401k match, parental leave, and HSA contribution match.
