This role is ideal for a hands-on financial leader who enjoys improving systems, developing people, analyzing complex information, and helping operational leaders better understand the financial side of their practices.\r\nWHAT YOU’LL DOLead and oversee the company’s financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, banking, cash management, and tax-related activities.\r\nPrepare accurate monthly financial statements, DVM production reports, budgets, forecasts, and other financial analyses.\r\nEnsure monthly financial reports are completed, approved, and distributed by the 20th of each month.\r\nDevelop, document, communicate, monitor, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.\r\nEnsure accounting records are accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with GAAP.\r\nManage and approve monthly bank reconciliations.\r\nLead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing budget-to-actual reporting.\r\nMaintain cash forecasts and oversee banking and corporate credit card activities.\r\nMonitor company expenses and identify opportunities to strengthen financial performance.\r\nSupport company pricing strategies through regular review of costs, expenses, and operating results.\r\nHelp clinic and department leaders understand their financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.\r\nMaintain financial scorecards, goals, and KPIs used during recurring leadership meetings.\r\nDirect tax compliance activities and assist the company’s outside CPA firm with tax-return preparation.\r\nComplete required sales tax, excise tax, and other periodic financial reports.\r\nManage relationships with bankers, insurers, vendors, and outside accounting professionals.\r\nProvide leadership, development, and accountability for Finance Department team members.\r\nComplete financial projects and analyses that support company growth and strategic decision-making.\r\nWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FORBachelor’s degree in Accounting.\r\nAt least five years of progressively responsible accounting experience.\r\nPrevious business management or financial leadership experience.\r\nStrong working knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, budgeting, and financial reporting.\r\nExtensive experience with QuickBooks in a multi-location or multi-class environment.\r\nAdvanced Excel skills, including experience managing and analyzing large, complex data sets.\r\nExperience leading, developing, and holding direct reports accountable.\r\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\r\nAbility to communicate financial information clearly to both financial and nonfinancial leaders.\r\nExperience in a multi-location healthcare, veterinary, retail, or service-based organization is preferred.\r\nYOU MAY BE A GREAT FIT IF YOUNotice when numbers, processes, or reports do not make sense—and take ownership of finding the answer.\r\nConsistently look for ways to improve systems rather than accepting “good enough.”\r\nCan move large projects forward while still handling important day-to-day priorities.\r\nPay close attention to details without losing sight of the broader organizational goals.\r\nEnjoy teaching others and making financial information easier to understand.\r\nApproach problems collaboratively and make decisions with the greater good of the organization in mind.\r\nCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITSBase compensation with a performance‑based incentive.\r\nComprehensive employee benefits package - PTO, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD, LTD, FSA, EAP, 401(k), CE Allowance, Employee Well-Being Initiatives and discounts on products and services.\r\nOpportunity to play an important leadership role in a growing, multi-location veterinary organization.\r\nNoah’s Ark Animal Clinics is a drug-free, smoke-free, equal opportunity employer.
