Certified Utility Operator
Here's what you'll be doing:Analyzes conditions and trends of the water and wastewater systems to ensure compliance with established rules, permits, and regulations.Monitors testing schedules and results; ensures sampling is collected, tested, and reported to ensure compliance with all permits. Generates reports to maintain permits.Tests and regulates chemical additions for the water and wastewater systems; collects, prepares, and submits samples for analysisCoordinates and/or performs specialized utility related maintenance functions, such as but not limited to troubleshooting, installing, maintaining, repairing, and relocating to ensure operation on all local water delivery, water quality and wastewater collection and discharge operations.Performs maintenance, repairs grounds keeping and housekeeping of water and wastewater facilities.Performs repairs, replaces, hook ups, and installation and maintenance on septic tanks, fire hydrants, and water and wastewater systems for residential and commercial properties.Responds to customer complaints.Performs snow plowing and removal at assigned locations.Position requires on call, after hours and response to emergencies.Maintains continuing education and requirements for certifications. What you'll need to be successful:High School Diploma or GED required.3 years' experience in water works and wastewater treatment, and operation/maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant required.Certification in General Wastewater required and must be maintained as a condition of employmentCertification in Water Distribution and Groundwater required and must be maintained.Certification in Wastewater Subclasses A1, A3, B, C, D, SS, and P obtained within 3 years of date of hire.Licensed as a Septic Hauler required or obtained within 1 years of date of hire.Class B Commercial Driver's License required. Must obtain Tanker endorsement and Septic Hauler certification within a year. Must maintain CDL as condition of employment.
