At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.\n\nJob Purpose/Overview\nSpecimen Processors are responsible for receiving, preparing, and processing most samples that come into the department.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions\n\nReceives and prepares samples for laboratory analyses.\n\nAccurately process standard requisitions per approved procedures at expected rates.\n\nRemoves specimens from transport bags, enter patient data, label samples and aliquot as needed for multiple testing\n\nKeep inventory of samples after testing has been completed by scanning into storage racks. Search lab for any samples not scanned into storage racks.\n\nSort samples for distribution throughout the lab (Coggins, cytology, etc.).\n\nScan tubes into storage racks and enter specimen data into database to verify the accuracy of information\n\nAccession various sample types for processing\n\nCheck all trash containers within the Specimen Processing department when assigned\n\nAssists other lab personnel with specimen storage\n\nEnsure Turn Around Times (TAT’s) are met\n\nFollows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), including safety and quality procedures. Maintains clean and organized work area.
