The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Projects, and Leadership to improve plant performance and support long-term business objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor, and develop a team of Process Engineers and Process Technicians through coaching, training, and performance management.Provide technical process engineering support for refinery operating units and utilities.Drive process optimization, debottlenecking, and reliability improvement initiatives to maximize production and efficiency.Prioritize engineering activities and coordinate resources to meet refinery operational objectives.Support capital projects by defining scope, reviewing designs, developing equipment specifications, and assisting with commissioning and start-up.Lead process safety initiatives, including participation in Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), and Process Safety Information (PSI) activities.Develop and maintain process models, key process indicators (KPIs), and performance monitoring tools.Coordinate engineering support during refinery turnarounds, shutdowns, and emergency troubleshooting activities.Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Projects, vendors, and external engineering partners to deliver effective technical solutions.Support budgeting activities and contribute to the identification and prioritization of future capital and reliability projects.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.Minimum of 6 years' combined refinery process engineering and refinery operations experience.Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a refinery or process manufacturing environment preferred.Strong knowledge of refinery process technologies, utilities, and unit operations.Experience with process optimization, troubleshooting, and process design.Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), including MOC, PSI, PSSR, and PHA processes.Experience using process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, PRO/II, or similar.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and leadership abilities.Preferred ExperienceExperience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.Background supporting refinery capital projects from concept through start-up.Knowledge of refinery reliability improvement strategies and continuous improvement methodologies.Experience working with engineering contractors, equipment suppliers, and technology licensors.Ability to develop engineering standards, best practices, and process modeling templates.Strong understanding of refinery process economics and production
