{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"6e7bc7e93bfcea7ec6a242f8","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/6e7bc7e93bfcea7ec6a242f8","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/6e7bc7e93bfcea7ec6a242f8","title":"Process Development Engineer - Crystal Growth","description":"Responsibilities\n\nCompetency with semi-conductor crystals including II-VI and III-V compounds, laser crystals, and NLO crystals including oxides and fluorides.\n\nPlan and conduct engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to verify process efficacy, prove hypotheses or characterize material quality.\n\nOrganize and write machine/process and qualification procedures.\n\nOperate and maintain crystal growth equipment for R&D and process development purposes.\n\nAssist in the design, construction, test and check-out of crystal growth and test equipment.\n\nUse manufacturing test, development or diagnostic equipment.\n\nPerform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nEducation and Work Experience:\n\nMasters in materials science or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of hands on experience in at least 1 method of crystal growth with emphasis on techniques for bulk congruent materials (Czochralski, Kyropoulos, Bridgman, VGF).\n\nOr Minimum 7 years of directly related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years direct experience.\n\nExperience with analytical equipment for optical/physical material characterization.\n\nExperience working from schematics, diagrams, written, and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.\n\nProven understanding of laser and nonlinear optics principles.\n\nDesired Qualifications\n\nPhD in materials science or related discipline.\n\nHands on experience in various methods of crystal growth.\n\nExperience in materials preparation and synthesis.\n\nExperience with common materials characterization techniques (SEM, XRD, GDMS, XRF, etc).\n\nExperience using SolidWorks, LabVIEW, Macros for Excel.\n\nStrong project management skills.\n\nStrong research analytical skills.\n\nAbility to plan, organize and multitask across multiple projects to utilize time efficiently.\n\nStrong communication skills in team meetings, presentations and comprehensive reports.\n\nAbility to work independently and to interface with large teams, working across departmental/discipline boundaries.\n\nSafety Requirements\nAll employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
