This role will provide technical assistance to the Rolls Royce customer and Element co-workers, with focus on quality, standardization, and continuous improvement. Element is driving toward achieving a NADCAP quality system accreditation. All job duties and functions support accreditation efforts.\n\nSalary: $65,000 - $85,000.00 yearly DOE\n\nResponsibilities:\nCandidate must be a US Citizen.\nPerform sample preparation steps of section, mount, grind, and polish metallurgical test specimens following laboratory procedures published by customer and relevant industry specifications including ASTM E3\nPerform Tensile, Rockwell Hardness and Microhardness tests per ASTM E8/A370, ASTM E18 and ASTM E384.\nPerform metallurgical evaluations and issue reports. Evaluations include grain size per ASTM E112, intergranular attack/oxidation per ASTM F2111, traditional/abusive machining evaluation, SEM/EDS analysis of debris and contamination, coating and plating thickness, and others.\nPerform weekly and monthly sieve analysis of media for production department.\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives including 5S and preventative maintenance.\nProvide technical guidance and support to lab technicians and requestors.\nMeet and interact with Rolls Royce requesters to define evaluation processes and techniques.\nReview existing procedures for accuracy and compliance to NADCAP standards\nSkills / Qualifications:\nRequired:\n4 Year Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering\n2+ years of experience with metallurgical testing in a laboratory environment\nProficient in Microsoft office products\n\nPreferred:\nNADCAP or ISO quality system exposure or experience\nAerospace industry exposure or experience\n#LI-SN1\nCompany Overview:\nElement is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
