Candidates who started their careers as machinists and progressed into leadership roles are highly preferred, as this position requires strong technical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot production issues alongside operators.\n\nThis is a hands-on leadership role focused on *production performance, quality, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement*.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n* Lead and manage daily shop-floor activities across multiple manufacturing departments.\n* Oversee *multi-axis CNC machining operations* supporting aerospace engine components.\n* Ensure production schedules, delivery requirements, and departmental goals are consistently achieved.\n* Lead, train, coach, and mentor machinists and production personnel.\n* Hold team members accountable for productivity, quality, attendance, safety, and performance.\n* Provide technical support and troubleshoot machining and production issues with operators.\n* Partner closely with *Quality Control* to prioritize production and ensure customer requirements are met.\n* Enforce strict aerospace quality standards and promote a zero-defect culture.\n* Monitor department productivity, efficiency, utilization, scrap, and other key performance metrics.\n* Review daily production results and identify opportunities for process and workflow improvements.\n* Ensure proper material traceability and accurate production data within the ERP system.\n* Maintain compliance with *AS9100, ISO 9001, AS13100, NADCAP*, and applicable aerospace requirements.\n* Promote a zero-incident safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements.\n* Ensure proper handling and processing of exotic aerospace materials and alloys.\n* Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to resolve production challenges.\n* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve throughput, efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n* *Minimum 8–10 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing.*\n* *Minimum 5 years of experience as a Production Supervisor* overseeing CNC machining or similar aerospace manufacturing operations.\n* *Aerospace manufacturing experience is mandatory.*\n* Strong experience managing CNC machining departments and production teams.\n* Strong leadership and team-accountability skills.\n* Ability to troubleshoot technical and machining issues with operators.\n* Experience working in a highly regulated, quality-focused manufacturing environment.\n* Strong understanding of production scheduling, metrics, productivity, scrap, and utilization.\n\nPreferred Background\n\n* Candidates who *started their careers as machinists and progressed into supervisory/management roles* are strongly preferred.\n* Hands-on CNC machining experience is a major plus.\n* Experience working with *multi-axis CNC machining* and complex aerospace engine components.\n* Tier 1 aerospace supplier experience is highly desirable.\n\nTechnical Skills\n\n* Blueprint reading\n* GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)\n* CNC machining and manufacturing processes\n* Aerospace quality systems\n* AS9100\n* AS13100\n* ISO 9001\n* NADCAP special processes\n* OSHA safety requirements\n* ERP systems and production tracking\n* Microsoft Office Suite\n* Visual 11 ERP experience is a plus\n\nIdeal Candidate\n\nThe ideal candidate is a *hands-on aerospace manufacturing leader* who understands machining from the shop floor up.
