Field Geologist

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct geological field investigations, including mapping, sampling, and logging.Analyze rock, soil, groundwater, and geophysical dataPrepare technical reports, maps, and cross-sectionsSupport mineral, energy, or environmental exploration projectsEnsure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirementsPerform various field activities on geotechnical projects including, but not limited to, pile load testing, field electrical resistivity testing, and soil logging.Demonstrate thorough understanding of pile load testing (PLT) procedure.Communicate with members of the team on project progress and issues that arise.REQUIRED SKILLS/COMPETENCIESPossess strong communication skills and a positive attitude.Ability to deal with ambiguity, pressure and a variety of field conditions.Experience with data analysis and technical reporting.Strong organization, problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation High school diploma or equivalent required, relevant post-secondary degree in Geology, Earth Science, or a related field preferred.Experience and/or Training Two years' related experienceLicenses/Certificates Driver's licenseTechnology/Equipment Microsoft OfficeWORKING ENVIRONMENT:Work/EnvironmentWill be a combination of office, field and laboratory environments. Often times will be a jobsite environment which can be outside in all weather conditions and/or tightly enclosed areas and can have uneven walking surfaces.
